Beamo Wipe Product License Agreement and Legal Disclaimers

This is the product license for Beamo Wipe. It grants a license only to people who buy a genuine Beamo product that includes Beamo Wipe. It is not legal advice. Qualified counsel should review any question of applicable law.

    About Beamo Wipe

    1. Parties and acceptance

This Beamo Wipe Product License Agreement and Legal Disclaimers (the “Agreement”) is between Beamo LLC (“Beamo,” “we,” “us”) and the person or organization that obtained a genuine Beamo product that includes Beamo Wipe (“you”). By purchasing, opening, booting, or otherwise using Beamo Wipe, you accept this Agreement. If you do not accept it, do not use Beamo Wipe, and contact [email protected] about a return under the seller’s return policy. This page is the product license for Beamo Wipe. It is not legal advice. Whether a particular law applies, and whether any term is enforceable where you live, is a question for qualified counsel.

    2. What this Agreement licenses

This Agreement licenses the Beamo Wipe commercial product: the prepared Beamo Wipe USB (or other authorized Beamo media that includes Beamo Wipe), Beamo’s guided interface and documentation as shipped with that product, Beamo’s branding, packaging, trade dress, and Beamo’s commercial distribution of that product. “Beamo Wipe” in this Agreement means that Beamo product. It does not grant a license to copy Beamo’s trademarks, to resell Beamo-branded media as your own product, or to operate Beamo Wipe as a service for other people without a qualifying purchase.

    3. Who may use Beamo Wipe

Beamo Wipe is proprietary Beamo software and a Beamo LLC product. A license to use Beamo Wipe is granted only to persons and organizations that purchase a genuine Beamo Wipe USB, or another authorized Beamo product that Beamo ships with Beamo Wipe included, from Beamo or an authorized seller. If you did not buy a genuine Beamo product that includes Beamo Wipe, you have no license under this Agreement to use, copy, run, distribute, or commercially exploit the Beamo Wipe product. Possession of a copy obtained some other way does not grant a license to the Beamo-branded product.

    4. License grant

If you purchased a genuine Beamo product that includes Beamo Wipe, Beamo grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, non-transferable (except with transfer of that physical product) license to boot and use that copy of Beamo Wipe to erase disks that you own or have written permission to erase, on compatible computers, for your own internal or personal purposes. The license follows the genuine physical product you bought. It does not authorize additional copies, additional sites, or use on behalf of customers who did not buy Beamo Wipe.

    5. Restrictions

Except as this Agreement or a third-party license that actually applies to a component expressly allows, you may not: (a) use Beamo Wipe if you did not purchase a genuine Beamo product that includes it; (b) copy, publish, upload, or redistribute the Beamo-branded product, ISO, image, or installer as a standalone download or as someone else’s product; (c) rebrand, white-label, or wrap Beamo Wipe as your own wipe service; (d) rent, lease, or commercially host Beamo Wipe for third parties; (e) remove or obscure Beamo trademarks, copyright notices, or this Agreement; (f) circumvent boot-USB protection, confirmation, countdown, or other safety gates; (g) use Beamo Wipe to erase disks you do not own and do not have written permission to erase; or (h) present Beamo Wipe as certified, guaranteed unrecoverable, or as a substitute for a laboratory certificate. Reverse engineering is prohibited except where a law says you may do so and only to the extent that law cannot be waived.

    6. Ownership and trademarks

Beamo LLC owns the Beamo name, logos, product names (including Beamo Wipe), packaging, trade dress, and the commercial product identity of Beamo Wipe. No trademark license is granted except the limited right to identify that you use a genuine Beamo Wipe USB you purchased. You may not use Beamo marks to imply partnership, certification, or that you may redistribute the product. Other names on the product or this site (including nwipe, Linux, Debian, Windows, Apple, Intel, and drive-maker names) are trademarks of their owners, used only for identification.

    7. Third-party software on the media

Beamo Wipe is a guided front-end. The erasure engine is nwipe (pinned version as shipped), which its copyright holders license under GNU GPL v2. The live environment includes Debian and other third-party programs under their own licenses. Beamo did not write the nwipe engine. This Agreement licenses Beamo’s product, branding, packaging, guided interface as a commercial product, and your right to use the prepared Beamo media you purchased. It does not relicense those third-party programs, and it does not take away rights those programs’ licenses grant in those programs. Notices shipped on the USB and in Beamo’s public repository accompany those components. If a third-party license requires Beamo to provide corresponding source for that component, Beamo will do so as that license requires. That obligation is not a license to use Beamo trademarks or to redistribute the Beamo-branded product.

    8. Irreversible erasure and your responsibility

Beamo Wipe is a destructive tool. If you confirm a disk, the overwrite can delete operating systems, files, applications, and recovery partitions on that disk. Beamo Wipe cannot restore files after a disk is erased. You must back up anything you still need before you start. You must confirm the disk by model, size, and serial or hardware ID. If you are not sure which disk it is, stop. You may use Beamo Wipe only on disks you own or have written permission to erase. Unauthorized erasure of another person’s data may be unlawful. Keep wall power connected on a battery computer. Leave the Beamo USB in until the result screen. A power cut or removal of the USB can leave a disk partly erased. Stopping an erase cannot restore files already overwritten.

    9. Compatibility

Beamo Wipe is for compatible x86-64 (64-bit Intel/AMD) PCs that can boot from USB, UEFI or legacy BIOS. It is not for Apple Silicon Macs, Chromebooks, Android, RAID controllers, or erasing the running Windows or macOS disk from inside that operating system. Intel Mac USB boot-picker guidance is best-effort only; it is not Mac wipe support. The computer must start from the Beamo USB. If the USB does not appear in the one-time boot menu, you may need to allow USB boot in firmware. Beamo does not ship Secure Boot circumvention tools. This image may be unsigned. Compatibility limits on the product page and on-screen notices control. This Agreement is not a promise that a specific computer or disk will work.

    10. Methods, SSDs, and what overwrite cannot prove

Everyday: one overwrite pass of random data, then a separate read-back verification pass of exposed storage. Three overwrites: a pattern, its inverse, then random data, then a separate read-back verification pass. Quick zero: one overwrite pass of zeros; verification is not performed. Overwrite reaches only storage the device exposes. It cannot guarantee coverage of inaccessible, remapped, over-provisioned, or controller-managed flash areas. Additional overwrite passes do not fix those limits. Read-back checks exposed storage only; it does not prove hidden copies were erased. Hidden HPA/DCO areas, unreadable sectors, encryption, locked devices, and RAID members are outside that guarantee. Beamo Wipe does not issue controller secure-erase or sanitize commands, unlock BitLocker, OPAL, or ATA security, extract keys, or reset passwords. If you need coverage beyond exposed storage, use the drive maker’s guidance for that model or a qualified destruction service.

    11. No certificate and no “impossible to recover” claim

Beamo Wipe is owner-operated sanitization before recycle or resale. It is not a laboratory certificate. It is not DoD, NSA, or NIST certified. It is not a Blancco replacement. Reports are not a formal certificate. Success on the result screen means Beamo Wipe validated completion evidence for the selected method and target as designed; it is not a warranty that every possible remnant is gone. Do not describe Beamo Wipe as plug-and-play, for any computer, or as making recovery impossible.

    12. Reports

Saving a report is optional and uses a separate FAT32 USB, not the Beamo boot USB and not the disk you erase. A saved report means the report copy was checked and that report USB was safely unmounted. It does not by itself prove erase success. Unsaved reports are lost on shutdown or power loss. Sharing copies may omit serials and similar identifiers; do not use a sharing copy where full identity evidence is required. Diagnostic reports are not erase evidence.

    13. No warranty

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BEAMO WIPE AND THIS WEBSITE INFORMATION ARE PROVIDED “AS IS,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. BEAMO DOES NOT WARRANT THAT ERASURE WILL BE COMPLETE, THAT A PARTICULAR DISK OR COMPUTER WILL BE COMPATIBLE, THAT VERIFICATION WILL DETECT EVERY FAILURE, OR THAT DATA CANNOT BE RECOVERED. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO QUALITY, PERFORMANCE, AND DATA LOSS IS WITH YOU. SOME PLACES DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN WARRANTY DISCLAIMERS. IN THOSE PLACES, BEAMO DISCLAIMS WARRANTIES ONLY TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS. THIS IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR LEGAL ADVICE.

    14. Limitation of liability

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BEAMO LLC AND ITS SUPPLIERS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR THE COST OF SUBSTITUTE SANITIZATION OR DESTRUCTION, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. BEAMO IS NOT LIABLE FOR ERASING THE WRONG DISK, FOR USE ON AN INCOMPATIBLE COMPUTER, FOR SSD CONTROLLER BEHAVIOR, FOR POWER LOSS, OR FOR FOLLOWING A GENERIC WIPE TUTORIAL FROM ANOTHER SITE. BEAMO’S TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THIS AGREEMENT IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE BEAMO WIPE PRODUCT THAT GAVE RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (US$50), WHICHEVER IS GREATER, EXCEPT WHERE A LAW SAYS THAT LIMIT CANNOT APPLY. SOME PLACES DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS. IN THOSE PLACES THE LIMIT APPLIES ONLY TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS.

    15. Your responsibility to others

You are responsible for confirming ownership or written permission, for identifying the correct disk, and for complying with laws that apply to the data and the machine. You will defend and indemnify Beamo LLC against claims arising from your use of Beamo Wipe on disks you did not have the right to erase, from redistribution or rebranding of the Beamo product in breach of this Agreement, or from your representation that Beamo Wipe is certified or that recovery is impossible, except to the extent a law says that indemnity cannot apply.

    16. Export and lawful use

You must use Beamo Wipe only in ways that are lawful where you use it, including export, sanctions, and privacy rules that apply to you. Beamo Wipe is a disk-erasure tool. Do not use it to interfere with systems you do not own or to destroy evidence you are legally required to keep.

    17. Term and termination

This license lasts while you own the genuine Beamo product you purchased, unless it ends earlier. It ends automatically if you breach this Agreement. When it ends, you must stop using Beamo Wipe. Sections that by their nature should survive (including ownership, third-party licenses, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity) survive. Ending this license does not require Beamo to refund a purchase except as the seller’s return policy or a law requires.

    18. Governing language

The English text of this Agreement controls. Translations of headings or notices on this page are for convenience. This Agreement does not select a court or country. Choice of law, consumer rights that cannot be waived, and enforceability need qualified counsel.

    19. Changes

Beamo may update this Agreement for later product versions or later shipments. The version published at https://beamo.tech/wipe-license on the date you purchased or first used that copy is the version that applies to that copy, unless a later version is required by law or you agree to a later version. The date at the top of this page is the publication date of this text.

    20. Contact

Beamo LLC. Email [email protected]. Text (866) 257-1911 (text only; calls are not answered). Support hours are published on the Support page. Do not send passwords, recovery keys, or payment details.

    21. Entire agreement

This Agreement is the product license for Beamo Wipe. Website terms at https://beamo.tech/terms, the privacy notice, and the cookies notice cover the website. Third-party software keeps its own licenses. Purchase terms of the store where you bought the product (including beamostore.com or another authorized seller) cover payment and delivery. Those documents do not grant extra rights to use Beamo Wipe if you did not buy a genuine Beamo product that includes it. If a court finds a part of this Agreement unenforceable, the rest remains. This page does not decide which consumer law applies.
