Your work at Beamo
Work on Beamo Flasher and Beamo’s USB/SD software experience, including reliable media writing, verification, device selection, releases, and clear recovery from errors. Beamo Wipe work requires particular care around destructive operations and customer data.

- Improve USB/SD device detection, image writing, integrity checks, and helpful progress and error states.
- Build automated tests and safe device-based regression checks using disposable test media.
- Maintain signing, packaging, updates, release notes, and reproducible release workflows.
- Review dependencies and open-source obligations, and document compatibility limits with support.
What you’ll bring
- Experience shipping and maintaining desktop or systems-adjacent software.
- Comfort with OS permissions, asynchronous I/O, storage devices, and debugging platform-specific issues.
- Strong testing habits, clear code review communication, and careful handling of destructive actions.
- Ability to discuss a relevant project; equivalent practical experience is welcome instead of a degree.
Helpful, but not required
- Cross-platform desktop frameworks, native system APIs, or Rust/C++/TypeScript experience.
- Code signing, CI/CD, Linux boot media, Raspberry Pi images, or accessibility experience.
What a strong first 90 days could look like
- Reproduce the build and map the supported release and device test matrix.
- Ship a tested reliability or usability improvement.
- Improve regression coverage for a device or error-handling edge case.
